Drappier Carte d'Or Immersion Brut NV Champagne 2 x 75cl

Drappier Carte d'Or Immersion is a beautifully presented two-bottle set that provides an opportunity to experience the regular Carte d'Or Champagne alongside a bottle that has been aged in the sea. The House of Drappier decided to immerse Champagne on October 4, 2020 and 3495 bottles at a depth of 31 meters in the Bay of Lannion in the Cotes d'Armor off Brittany, France.

The pressure, temperature and light at 30 metres underwater in a location near Brest in Brittany are the perfect conditions for ageing Champagne: dark, an even 10 degrees Celsius, and a level of pressure that reduces loss of fizz in the bottle during ageing.

Drappier is one of the most forward-thinking Champagne producers, and this project was conceived as a way of providing perfect storage conditions without necessitating energy use. 

In the summer of 2022, 1368 bottles of Carte D'or were brought to the surface and this set includes one of those bottles.
