The addition of a superb red wine from the Poirier Saint-Pierre and Montboeuf plots in Verzenay or from those of Aÿ, depending on the year, worked in the same way as the vines of the legendary La Côte aux Enfants plot, giving it a certain aromatic power. The new bottle shape was inspired by a 19th-century bottle in Bollinger's Cellars.
