Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2018 Simon Porte Jacquemus Edition 75cl
Veuve Clicquot's La Grande Dame 2018 latest Limited Edition is by French fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. The 'Prince of Sun' meets Veuve Clicquot's Solaire House in this celebration of Madam Clicquot's unique vision, drive and audacity.
Instantly recognisable for its handwritten logo and signature by Simon on irregular edges, the yellow label is embossed with sun rays. The gift box is sheathed in “toile du Marais” to the bottle wrapped in white linen and this reflects Simon Porte Jacquemus’ singular vision: artisanal excellence meeting everyday poetry.
The bottle draped with white linen branded with Veuve Clicquot and evokes the timeless elegance of family heirlooms that have been carefully washed, sun-dried and starched with Marseille soap.
The 2018 is the 25th vintage of the cuvée, the purest expression of Pinot Noir, and expresses a centuries-old craftsmanship and an unprecedented year, offering a maturity of grapes close to perfection. Madame Clicquot said that Veuve Clicquot's "black grapes give the finest white wines" and this continues to be reminiscent today, with Pinot Noir making up 90% of the blend of La Grande Dame. The Pinot Noir grape is beloved for its versatility, expressing differences between sites, growing conditions and the vagaries of weather patterns.

The 2018 growing year was characterized by a rainy winter and sunshine in the spring and summer. This resulted in a very beautiful balance in the grapes. The wines displayed finesse, precision and freshness.

Over the next decade, Jacquemus expanded his creative reach by adding footwear, handbags, hats, and menswear to his collections, while also staging some of the most memorable runway shows in fashion, including presentations in lavender and wheat fields.
He opened his first restaurant, Citron, in 2019 and has since built a global retail presence with flagship stores in Paris, New York, and London. His brand has collaborated with Nike on athletic wear and sneakers, dressed international stars like Beyoncé, and unveiled collections at iconic venues such as the Palace of Versailles.
"This limited edition of La Grande Dame 2018 is the outcome of simple materials, meaningful gestures, and strong women's stories, yet it is ultimately a celebration of - and for - optimistic and memorable moments." Simon Porte Jacquemus.
