Extra Brut Extra Old is a cuvée collection crafted from a unique blend of prestigious old reserve wines. In 2013, Cellar Master created a unique blend composed exclusively of reserve wines, in order to express the quintessence of Yellow Label and pay tribute to Madame Clicquot and her innovative and visionary process. Thus, was born the Extra Brut Extra Old cuvée, particularly singular champagne.

Extra Brut Extra Old 4 is a complex, qunique blend of eight of the House’s prestigious reserve wines - 1996,  2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014, aged for a minimum of three years. Pinot Noir dominates the blend (50%) and provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (30%) which adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (20%) that rounds out the blend.

Presenting as intensely golden in colour, with a delicate stream of tightly knit beads, the champagne showcases powerful aromas of citrus fruits, green tea and orchard fruits; namely pear and mirabelle plum. These scents are also complemented by additional aromas of ginger, bread dough and a mineral salinity that continues onto the palate. In the mouth, the wine is overflowing with freshness and purity of flavour, and showcases finesse, precision and a silky texture.
Thanks to it's salinity, this champagne would make the perfect pairing for seafood dishes, however the purity and freshness in flavour would also complement refined dishes, raw vegetables, ceviche and tartares.

Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old Champagne is Veuve Clicquot's its first ever ‘official’ low-dosage cuvée. Called Extra Brut Extra Old, the new Champagne which launched in London in 2017 by cellar master Dominique Demarville – comes with a dosage of 3 g/l, placing the blend in the Extra Brut category, which is used for Champagne with 6g/l of sugar or lower. “Except for Cave Privée, this is the first extra brut we have made; officially this is the first Champagne of Veuve Clicquot to show this level of sugar,” said Demarville at the launch.

The new Champagne is made entirely with reserve wines from six vintages, spanning harvests from 1996 to 2014, meaning that all the wines in the cuvée have been aged for a minimum of three years on their lees in stainless steel tanks.
