Salon Blanc De Blancs le Mesnil Champagne 2007 Vintage 75cl

The challenging weather conditions of the 2007 Harvest were described as "Climatologie chaotique", or chaotic climate in an official local report summarising the growing season. Not many Champagne Houses had a successful harvest this year as a result of the unusual conditions. April was so warm that there was unprecedented discussion on harvesting by mid-August. However, May offered much more overcast skies and the continuous unsettled weather caused uneven flowering across the entire region. Salon's vineyards proved fortunate; surviving month after month and as other houses were preparing to call time on the harvest, the conditions became spectacular. For vineyards like Salon that held out, the reward was a perfectly ripe grape with musts that were rich and fine without being excessively high in sugar or acidity.
