Pol Roger Winston Churchill 2015 Vintage Magnum was created in homage to Sir Winston Churchill and is robust, full-bodied, and mature - all characteristics that he looked for in his Champagne. The 2015 Vintage is the 21st Release of this opulent Champagne. The exact blend is a closely guarded family secret but it is undeniable that the composition would meet with the approval of the man to whom it is dedicated, who once said: "My tastes are simple, I am easily satisfied with the best". 

Composed exclusively of Grands Crus grapes, the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is only made in the very best vintage years. It is only released after other vintage Champagnes from Pol Roger, marking Churchill's appreciation for older Champagnes. 

A complex and intense flavour profile, the Pinot Noir predominates, providing structure, breadth, and robustness whilst Chardonnay contributes elegance, finesse, and subtlety. A Secret Family Blend.

The exact blend is a closely guarded family secret, but it is likely that Pinot Noir dominates the blend.

In the 2015 growing season, a wet winter and mild spring gave way to an exceptionally dry summer from mid-May onwards. Hot weather prevailed until mid-August when the skies opened again. Rains gave way to fine, cool, yet sunny weather for the first two weeks of harvest, which started at the end of August.
The 2015 Vintage is an alluring yellow-gold in colour with a fine stream of bubbles, which are both characteristics of the length of time the Champagne has spent in the famously cool cellars at Pol Roger. The nose boasts intense aromas of black fruit, dried fruit and hazelnut are overlayed with notes of exotic fruits. On the palate, notes of candied fruits are accompanied by hints of pastries, brioche and cocoa. Full-bodied and generous, the wine leads up to a terrific length on the finish. Drink now or cellar for up to 20 years.
The Pol Roger Winston Churchill 2015 pairs well alongside grilled scallops, lobster thermidor or a seafood platter. It also perfectly complements roasted poultry in creamy sauces.
