Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2016 Champagne Jeroboam 300cl
Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2016 Champagne is made from this esteemed house's classic vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. 20 different Grands and Premiers Crus vineyards from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims form the blend for this limited-production vintage Champagne. Full malolactic fermentation and the quality of the Pinot Noir give this the signature richness expected of Pol Roger Vintage, whilst the citrus-led profile and keen acidity express the classic, cool profile of the 2016 vintage.

2016 is a return to a more classically styled vintage. A cool and wet start to the season delayed budbreak and flowering. The vines caught up in August with the arrival of warm sunny weather that promoted ripening. The vineyards ripened unevenly, meaning a protracted harvest that relied on meticulous planning to get each parcel picked at optimal ripeness. In recent years, the warming climate has resulted in early harvests: in 2016, it was later, beginning on the 10th September and finishing in early October.
This classic expression of Pol Roger Vintage is citrus-driven, with notes of lemon peel, pastry and cream on the nose, opening up more with notes of hazelnuts, orange marmalade and toast. The palate is built on a spine of firm acidity, with the typical Pol Roger richness coming from the Pinot Noir.
Perfect with richly sauced or buttery fish and seafood dishes.
