Located in the historic village of Castiglione Falletto is the renowned vineyard of Pira, the Roagna family have owned this vineyard since 1989. It is perfect for growing the Nebbiolo grapes that produce this bold Barolo due to its south-facing slopes and unique terroir. To produce the Luca Roagna Barolo La Pira all the harvest is undertaken by hand early in the morning, fermentation takes place in large wood casks. The wine is then aged in old oak barrels for around 5 years.
