What causes bubbles to appear in handmade glass products?

Solid glasses, chunky
Look good, solid bases nice to hold, able to stand them in the dishwasher. And crystal cut key for champagne anyway. I have set of 12 of them. Price not cheap but considering cut glass handmade and the quality, but I won't use anything else.
