Buy Krug's latest Vintage the Krug 2013 Vintage Champagne that encapsulates the singularity and expressive power of a remarkable Champagne year. Krug 2013 is composed of 41% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, and 21% Meunier. Each varietal was vinified in small individual plots, the hallmark of Krug’s meticulous approach, allowing the distinct character of each parcel and each village to be preserved and ultimately harmonised in the final assemblage.
After more than 12 years resting in the serenity of Krug’s cellars, the vintage is poised to take its place among the House’s most distinguished releases. The 2013 vintage can be enjoyed today or carefully stored, as it will continue to gain in complexity and take on a patina with time.
Krug 2013 is a very limited release, it is the music of a singular year, performed by a small ensemble of the House’s most expressive wines.
On the nose, Krug 2013 opens with lemon and bitter orange notes that give way to aromas of candied citrus, toasted almonds, and honey. On the palate, Krug 2013 is direct and precise, dominated by the freshness of citrus in all its forms. Carried by notes of lemon, blood orange, grapefruit and tangerine, its ample structure and mouthfeel unfold with remarkable intensity and length.
"Krug 2013 is fragrant citrus on a silver platter." - Julie Cavil, Krug Cellar Master.

Flowering was uneven and late, leading to reduced yields, particularly for Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs. However, July and August brought exceptionally hot and dry weather, promoting rapid grape maturity, and September rains helped the berries swell before drier conditions allowed for optimal ripening. Harvest commenced on September 25th and extended through October 16th, a window that allowed for the careful selection of grapes at optimal ripeness. The result was a collection of superb Chardonnay, displaying crystalline purity and finesse; Pinot Noir, notable for its structure and restraint; and Meunier, contributing both length and subtlety to the blend.
For simple pleasures, pair alongside sea bass ceviche with ginger and lemongrass or fragrant pak choi. For a more gastronomic pairing, serve the 2013 vintage with creamy pasta with sea urchin or fresh goat cheese with candied citrus.
