Klein Constantia Perdeblokke Sauvignon Blanc 2017 South Africa 75cl

The Perdeblokke Sauvignon Blanc from Klein Constantia is a serious wine by any standard and is of an exceptional quality. It is produced in high-lying vineyards made only in the best vintages. The wine has been partially fermented in stainless tanks before being aged for 9 months in neutral oak barrels. 

The name Perdeblokke refers to the horses that tilled the soils of the steep slopes that lie 200-220 metres above sea level on the Constantiaberg mountain. Since it was planted, the Perdeblokke has yielded a distinctly unique and high-quality Sauvignon Blanc. This prompted the producer's decision to begin the production of this special-label wine in 2005. It is only made in years of exceptional quality, and has the capacity to age in bottle for several years, developing further layers of complexity.
