Fleur de Miraval Exclusivement Rosé Champagne is presented as a trio in the Fleur de Miraval case box. This exceptional Rosé Champagne was created with the aim of producing a Champagne that perfectly combines the complexity of Chardonnay (75%) alongside the youthful vibrancy of Pinot Noir (25%).

Brad Pitt took a leading role in creating Fleur de Miraval rosé Champagne. Chateau Miraval (Jolie and Pitt) joined with the Péters family in Champagne to begin a new project. The Péters family, established in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, is internationally renowned for its Champagne, especially the blanc de blancs made from its own grapes since 1919.

‘Fleur de Miraval is the culmination of five years of work, research and tasting, done in the utmost secrecy,’ said Rodolphe Péters, who today runs his family’s estate, of which around 40 acres lie in grand cru vineyard sites.

25% of the base wine is created using 7-year-old Blanc de Blancs purchased 'sur latte'. This process involves uncorking the Blanc de Blancs, emptying the bottles into a tank where the wine is de-gassed before being added to the rest of the base wine. Although this process is extremely expensive, it brings outstanding texture, complexity and richness to the final wine.

Fleur de Miraval is a rosé Champagne composed of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir.

‘It is also a very exclusive wine, as only 20,000 bottles have been produced for the first edition,’ added Péters.

" An extraordinary achievement this, made by the famously difficult saignée method, yet with a wonderful onion skin colour and poised aromas of lemongrass, small red-berried fruit and pink grapefruit. Rodolphe Péters from the eponymous Champagne house in Le Mesnil sur Oger demonstrates why he is seen as one of the very finest winemakers in Champagne, coaxing wonderful complexity from his reserve wines (aged in a solera) and ensuring definition and purity from the base wines, the purity and elegance of the 25% Pinot Noir component quite breathtaking.

Despite the relatively modest time on lees (three years), there is definite pedigree here, and, given the aspiration to forge a new style of rosé, a triumphant aura of complexity and latent potential. Rodolphe already has a reputation for making some of the finest Chardonnay-based Champagnes; now the inspired partnership with the Perrins of Beaucastel, who, it has to be admitted, know a thing or two about red wine, has yielded a hugely impressive debut for the Fleur de Miraval.

Behind these two winemaking giants there is the owner, a certain Brad Pitt, who has achieved a degree of success elsewhere (!) but who has been surprisingly hands-on with this project, as of course he is at sister company Miraval in Provence. Not a bad team, all in all. What’s more, this wine is appreciably different to the other prestige rosé Champagnes on the market, without in any way losing out in terms of profundity, or, at a more basic level, the power to give pleasure. The very high expectations have been matched... and then some! Drinking Window 2020 - 2030."
Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
The nose opens with aromas of blood orange, pink grapefruit and sweet pastries leading to a poised palate of undeniably elegant flavours of candied citrus peel, almond and a saline freshness. The finish is a delicate mousse to be savoured.
