Chateau Musar Hochar Pere et Fils 2021 Lebanon Red Wine is deep ruby red in colour with dried fruits, plums, and soft spices on both the nose and palate. This is a deliciously balanced and elegant Lebanese wine that combines vibrant fruit notes on a full-bodied palate with smooth, soft tannins and good acidity. This wine will drink well now but will especially benefit from cellar ageing.
Hochar Pere et Fils is sourced from specially selected vineyards near the village of Aana in the Bekaa Valley. The vineyards are characterised by deep, gravelly soil on a limestone base. Low yields result in a concentrated wine and the altitude keeps the average yearly temperatures at around 25°C.

Average rainfall and some snow throughout January and February was followed by continuous rain in March leading in a mild spring in April. The buds opened 10 days later than expected and then after 3 weeks of normal June temperatures, there was an extended heatwave reducing the yields considerably but also concentrating fruit and power in the final wine.
Rich and full-bodied, showcasing flavours of spice and dark fruit, complemented by a tannic structure that provides excellent ageing potential.
Decant this wine to remove the sediment before enjoying it with hearty dishes such as casseroles and roasted meats or fresh tuna steak.
