Bodegas Roda Sela 2023 is sourced from this top producer's youngest bush vines, which are dry-farmed without herbicides and pesticides. In the winery, maceration was relatively short and gentle, avoiding over-extraction and delivering great finesse. Fermentation with wild yeast occurred in oak fermenters, facilitating micro-oxygenation of the must and resulting in a more complex, integrated wine. Finally, the wine aged for 12 months is top-quality second-use French oak barriques.
Bodegas Roda is one of the very best, most thoughtful Rioja producers, working with artisanal methods to produce characterful wines of the highest quality. Sela is a wonderful introduction to their portfolio.

This Rioja has an intense nose with red fruit aromas of cherries and raspberries. The oak is perfectly integrated with some light and pleasant fresh spices. The wine is medium-bodied with a light, very pleasant character.
Best with rich dishes, red meat would be great but also lovely with hearty tomato-based vegetable stews.
