Akitu Pinot Noir Blanc 2024 is crafted from 100% red Pinot Noir grapes and is praised as on of their best vintage releases yet. The Akitu vineyard, based in Wanaka, Central Otago, is entirely dedicated to Pinot Noir grapes, which make the aromas and flavours of the wine concentrated and focussed.
The grapes are hand-picked and undergo cold pressing immediately after picking which minimises both colour pick-up and phenolic extraction from the skins, hence why it is very light pink in colour. As the wine spends no time on the skins it is technically a white wine rather than a Rosé. Partial fermentation in old French oak barrels adds another dimension of complexity to the wine.

Grape: Pinot Noir
The 2024 Pinot Noir Blanc from Akitu is light lemon with a green gold hue. A faint pink blush emerges when you swirl the wine in the glass. There is a silky yet textured palate with flavours of ruby grapefruit, gentle stone fruit, ripe peach and spicy apple. Pale in colour, with a bright acidity and a complex, lingering finish.
Pairs excellently alongside salmon, grilled squid, sushi and creamy dishes.
