Wynns Michael Shiraz 2008 Australia Red Wine 75cl

Wynns Michael Shiraz 2008 Red Wine is Wynns Coonawarra Estate’s best-of-vintage Shiraz. The fruit used for this wine comes from the best vineyard sites in Coonawarra and is only made in years when the best quality fruit is available. The first Michael (then called Michael Hermitage) was a one-off from the 1955 vintage, made after proprietor David Wynn noticed the outstanding quality of the wine from two particular barrels and ordered them to be bottled separately. Named after David Wynns' young son, this is a legendary Australian wine.

''Michael is a genial chap in 2009, more restrained and reticent than ever. Very fine, textural, chalky tannins frame black plum and dark berry fruits. The ripeness of 2008 produces a generous finish" - Tyson Stelzer

Bronze Medallist - International Wine Challenge, IWC 2013
Grape: Shiraz
A fine, plummy nose leading to a chewy palate with crisp acidity and a tannic finish. Rich and full from start to finish with succulent dark fruit notes perfectly combined with oak and tannins on the dense palate.
