Tinta Roriz
Tinta Roriz is a Portuguese wine grape, also known as Tempranillo for the Spanish. Portuguese people use two different names depending on the region: Aragonês and Tinta Roriz. It can give rich red wines that are elegant and robust with berries and spicy flavour.
The vines are very productive and remarkably suited for different climates and soils, altough it performs better in hot, dry climates on sandy or clay-limestone soils. It is usually blended with other varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet in the Alentejo.
