It comes from Tapanappa's Whalebone Vineyard that is located on bright red terra rossa formed on limestone containing the bones of a 37 million year old whale. Cabernet Shiraz is the traditonal blend of great Australian red wines and the Whalebone Vineyard soil and climate provide a natural home for this blend.
The 2013 vintage is the product of a warm, ripe vintage. The ripe blackberry and anise of the Shiraz dominates the aroma although the underlying cassis and herbal spice of the Cabernet Sauvignon add complexity and finesse.
