Basil Hayden was a master distiller, who broke new ground for making bournon by mixing small grains int othe mash of a traditional corn base. Determined to stand out from the crowd in the residing establishment, Basil conjectured that the spicy flavor of rye would be a special complement to the sweet smoothness of corn in his distillery's standard bourbon. Basil created a recepie for a masterpeice, which produced a unique, signular small batch bourbon whiskey, touched with rich hints of peppermint, notes of pepper, slight citrus overtones, and a spicy, warming finish.
