1997 began with icy temperatures but soon lead into a mild winter that meant budding began a lot sooner. Frosts in spring destroyed a lot of the crop and heavy rain in June brought about a fear of mildew. The summer was eventually hot and dry which continued throughout the harvest.
Aromas of dried, yellow fruits on the nose with hints of cinnamon and ginger spice lead to a palate that is incredibly complex with great acidity and a silky mouthfeel finishing with toasted vanilla notes.
Perfect with fish and shellfish dishes, poultry or soft cheeses.
