Krug 2003 Vintage Champagne it is crafted to be exceptional and different and created to reveal the expression of a year’s specific character. 2003 was a year like none other with two serious frosts and a summer of scorching heat. The longest harvest in living memory started in the August, the earliest beginning since 1822 to October. Named Vivacité Solair or Vivacious Radiance to relate an unexpected story of a hot year that surprised Krug with fruit, freshness, balance, expressiveness, vivacity and finesse, all at the same time. Krug 2003 is a masterful blend of the wines of the year, from many different plots. Plenty of aromatic richness, fresh and balanced with structure and body enhanced by close to ten years in the cellars.

Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir
At first sight, a subtle yellow gold colour highlighting a reserved finesse. On the nose; there are notes of citrus, plum, liquid honey and brioche. On the palate; fresh summer fruits, surprising red grapefruit along with candied peel, roast chestnut and caramelized apple tart.

Krug 2003 is a year without comparison, but it could be considered among other hot years such as Krug 1976, 1979 and 1989.
