Joseph Drouhin Puligny Mont 1er Garenne 2016 is a fantastic dry white wine made from Chardonnay grapes, from Puligny-Montrachet, one of the villages of the Cote des Beaune, famous for its great wines. Great care is taken when creating this wine. The pressing is very slow as to respect fruit and ageing takes place in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Grape: Chardonnay
This vintage produced wines of various styles, some with a rather high acidity level, others offering roundness. The main factor has been the frost. The vines hit by this severe spring frost very often matured later, giving fairly nervous wines, whereas the plots spared by frost reached a more precocious maturity. Many beautiful wines in this multi-faceted vintage.
Great finesse and breed in this wine. The colour, barely golden, is brilliant. On the nose, refined aromas of hawthorn, fresh almond, and apricot, evolving towards candied fruit, hazelnut and grilled dried fruit. On the palate, a beautiful structure harmonizing nicely with fresh and velvety sensations. Long aftertaste, especially in the flavours.

Throughout the ageing process, decisions are taken only after careful tasting evaluation. As with every other Joseph Drouhin wine, absolute priority is given to the true expression of terroir and character of the vintage.
