Henri Giraud Argonne 2012 Vintage Champagne 75cl
Henri Giraud Argonne 2012 Vintage Champagne is the prestige cuvée from this Champagne House created using 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay from the very best Grand Cru vineyards in Ay. This wine rests for 12 months in oak barriques from the Argonne forest and a further 7 years on the lees in the bottle. Each bottle is individually numbered and is presented in a beautiful wooden box.
Champagne Henri Giraud is the oldest Champagne house still owned by its founding family – the Giraud-Hémart family has farmed vines at Aÿ since 1625. However, it is only since current head Claude Giraud took over that the wines have been released under the family name.

“This is an extraordinary, hand-crafted Champagne with aromas of strawberries, spice, dried apples, clementines and subtle bread dough. Dried oranges, too. Full-bodied, yet so tight, compact and powerful with a solid core of fruit and a finish that goes on forever. 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay, all from the village of Ay and fermented and aged in new wood for 15 months. Then aged in bottle. Superb structure and complexity. One for the cellar.” - Awarded 99 Points, James Suckling
“The bouquet is simply sumptuous with hints of mint and anise, overlying its 'al dente' or slightly crunchy white fruit, along with an enticing grace note of gentle spices. On the palate, the texture is fleshy, almost creamy, but perfectly balanced with remarkable overall precision, and enlivened by the stream of very fine bubbles. A great Champagne that manages the rare feat of having a style that is both vinous and delicate.” - Awarded 98 Points, Decanter
