Chateau Musar 2001 Lebanon is a fine red wine. 2001 was a most unusual year at Chateau Musar, with a normal start with rainy and cold days, in mid February the winter chill gave way to warmer weather with almost no rain or snow. There was just 23mm of rainfall between March and August, with July and August far hotter than usual. The harvest began on September 3rd and the dryness reduced yields by 15%. There are some constants and the blend is aged for nearly a year in French Nevers oak. It is bottled in it's third year and cellared for 4 more years prior to release.
