Bouchard Père & Fils Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets ACC 2016 75cl
Bouchard Père & Fils Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets 2016 comes from what is considered by some to be the finest cru of the village. Bouchard Père & Fils own a large proportion of Caillerets, bought by the house in 1775 as their first of many vineyard purchases. They pay hommage to the original owners of the plot, the Carnot family, on the label - hence the moniker Ancienne Cuvée Carnot. This really is a top quality Volnay and a reference point for anyone who wants to familiarise themselves with this appellation.
Bouchard Père & Fils was founded in 1731, and now own some 130 hectares of vineyards, much of which is Premier and Grand Cru. They have extensive cellars in which to store wine in perfect conditions, a state of the art winery and a large team of expert professionals who lavish great care on the domaine's vineyards. Owned by Champagne house Henriot since 1995, who have invested here heavily, no stone is left unturned in the quest to produce the finest wines possible.
